Electronic business administration to be implemented throughout Switzerland by the end of 2010
The Swiss Federal Chancellery has decided in favour of the standard solution Fabasoft eGov-Suite CH and intends to introduce electronic business administration (known as "GEVER") throughout Switzerland to realise complete electronic exchange with the ministerial departments. Additionally, the aim is to meet the needs of the users and coordinate them with the legal requirements.
GEVER combines operative process management with internal information management in the Swiss administration. Order control, flexible workflow control and legally compliant records management are integrated in the standard automated office tools. Over 7,000 users already work with Fabasoft's business administration system in Switzerland.
The decision of the Federal Chancellery is in connection with an action plan approved by the Federal Council on the handling of electronic data and documents. This has seen the launch of an extensive package of measures with the aim of modernising records and process management. Key points include the introduction of electronic business administration throughout the entire Swiss Federal Administration by the end of 2011.
